This area of law seeks to help an individual bring a formal lawsuit, typically against a governmental entity and/or its agents, when a wrongful action has been asserted against the person which is believed to have violated any of the specific personal liberties guaranteed every United States Citizen via the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights and by the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 19th Amendments, as well as by legislation such as the Voting Rights Act.
